Abstract

Mixed-mode fracture is a common failure phenomenon of materials, while its experiment requires at least a material test machine, test materials and special machining procedures. In this paper, a simple but effective mixed-mode fracture experiment using office paper is proposed, so one can easily conduct the mixed-mode fracture experiment and understand its fracture criteria such as the maximum tensile stress (MTS) criterion.
