Abstract

The internet is the major source of transmission of many kind of confidential data such as financial documents, military information, etc. in modern days. Due to such circumstances methods and technologies are necessary to ensure secrecy and confidentiality on the network. Visual Cryptography (VC) is one of such methods to hide visual data and information. For such purposes many methods are used to encrypt secret images into some other versions of their original types. This paper presents a new method in which a symmetric key and Binary Tree (BT) is used to encrypt the image. The strength of cryptosystem is major deciding factor on security of information. Other than the strength of cryptosystem, the encrypting and decrypting algorithms should be such that they can be implemented in the real time. The proposed method allows the encryption and decryption of images in real time along with security.
