Abstract
As MP3 format audio files have many advantages, MP3 players have been widely used in several application fields. However, most of the existing MP3 players are design for general purpose. Therefore, in this paper, we investigate a design scheme of MP3 players which is suitable to be used in education. To make the MP3 player more powerful, we import an ARM architecture based processor in our design. Particularly, an efficient MP3 decoder is proposed to promote the performance of MP3 player. Afterwards, we give a modified embedded FAT32 file system which is composed of three layers and we define a new file information structure to make the MP3 file can be easily retrieved and managed.
