Abstract

AbstractThe greenhouse effect is a natural phenomenon for the formation of the earth’s climate. Due to increase in the carbon foot print causes increase in the green house effect. Many technologies were employed to reduce these harmful emissions. Present research proposed for conditioning of fuel, i.e. magnetizing the fuel with 3000 gauss power strength. The intermolecular bonds between hydrocarbons chains present in fuel get weaken on the application of a magnetic field. Due to this, thermo-physical properties of the fuel get improved and resulting better exhaust emission. Emission analysis was performed on the following systems; diesel engine, petrol engine, and domestic LPG gas stove under magnetic field effect. The observation showed a reduction in CO emissions for SI engines for different speeds by 28% whereas for CI engine is 3% reduction of CO emissions and 2.8% in domestic LPG gas stoves when compared to magnetic and non-magnetic effects for different loading conditions. Similarly, other exhaust emissions from the diesel engine, petrol engine, and domestic LPG gas stove under magnetic and non-magnetic field effect were performed and analyzed.KeywordsMagnetic strengthExhaust emissionDe-clusters thermo-physical property and viscosity
