Abstract

In this paper, an edge tapered wideband rectangular patch antenna with slot and parasitic stubs has been proposed. The designed antenna shows wideband characteristics with a percentage impedance bandwidth of 112 % (below ?10 dB and centered at 6.01 GHz). The proposed antenna shows excellent radiation characteristics with an average peak gain of 2.65 dB and average radiation efficiency of 83.9 % throughout the working bandwidth. The overall dimension of the antenna is 35 × 35 × 1.6 mm3. In order to validate the simulated results prototype has been fabricated and measured.
