Abstract

Abstract There are many ways to write the history of a country. One can describe its political strife or its economic development or its intellectual attainments. In this book Sven- Erik Asirom has the novel (if trendy) approach of examining Finland's history as the story of its land utilisation. Although he calls this an ‘anthropo-ecologica1’ interpretation, it is essentially the viewpoint of the economic geographer.
