Abstract
Summary Application of Dr Hunter's Earth model in the reduction of gravity observations for use in the Stokes integral is discussed. An attempt is made to make it clear that there are practical difficulties in utilizing the new surface anomaly designated by Dr Hunter as g - yE, in the Stokes integral, for the purpose of determining ultimately the figure of the Earth.
