Abstract
This paper presents an investigation about the solution methods of axially symmetrical cylindrical shell walls. The main objective is to show the pros and cons of the methods by comparing analysis results. In order to ensure this, a computer program based on the Superposition Method (SPM) is developed. The real influence of the loads that will possibly effects to wall is calculated and formulized in the program. Thus, exact solution of axially symmetrical cylindrical walls is obtained. The other compared methods are: (1) Finite Element Method (FEM) and (2) the method developed by Oztorun and Utku (OUM). According to the analyses results, in some cases significant errors can occur in the results of the methods.
