Abstract

With the huge change of the international freights between China and Japan in contents and quality, it is needed to construct the new transport system with high certainty, punctuality, reliability and security for the logistics services with greater sophistication and diversity. This paper firstly analyzes the actual situations of China-Japan’s international trade and relevant freight, and the relevant issues of conventional marine transport. Then, an intermodal transport system for these freights with the use of rail container and RORO/Ferry ship is described conceptually. Finally, the availability of the international freight transport system is confirmed through a case study based on the pots of Shanghai and Hakata.
