Abstract

With the rapid development of intelligent manufacturing technology, digital instruments are more and more widely used. The traditional manual reading method is inefficient to obtain data, especially for digital instruments, false readings may occur. Aiming at the above problems, an automatic machine vision recognition method of digital instrument based on template matching algorithm is studied in this paper. Firstly, a multi-digit digital instrument image is taken by CCD camera, and the image is processed to improve the recognition accuracy. Secondly, an image recognition template is generated on the processed image according to the projection segmentation method. Next, the template matching algorithm based on gray value is used to recognize the values and positions on the image. Finally, the visual recognition of digital instruments is completed. The simulation and experimental results show that the method can realize the automatic recognition of digital instruments based on machine vision, and has good recognition accuracy and efficiency.
