Abstract

Summary A prototype of a mode switch for automatically programming a summing computer into “add” and “subtract” modes of operation on electrical command is described. The instrument occupies little space and is relatively inexpensive. In addition to providing add-subtract programming, the unit also is capable of short-circuiting the input to a computer channel so that reference response to a single stimulus can be obtained. Manual operation of the “add” and “subtract” computer functions remains unhampered.
