Abstract
Knowledge of the hydraulic conductivity of water moving through soil is an important measurement of watermovement through the soil. Manual methods of measurement are laborious and timeconsuming. The objective of this studywas to adapt the manual laboratory method to an automated system. This method was accomplished with fitting the manualmonitoring system of the laboratory apparatus with sensitive electronic pressure cells with the support of data logging andPC monitoring system. These cells were calibrated and tested on various soil textures. The results were detected with highlysignificant correlation levels with confidence approaching 99% allowing totally automatic unattended operation.
