Abstract

The instrument described, which measures cathodic-current efficiency, can be used in an assessment of the quality of zinc sulphate electrolytes. The instrument is based on galvanostatic deposition and potentiostatic dissolution of zinc onto and from a lead substrate. Correlation between the instrumental results and measurements of current efficiency on a zinc-electrowinning plant is given.
