Abstract
This is a case study of a four-year-old child with an incapacitating level of separation anxiety. In this case the threat of loss has a realistic basis, due to a hereditary form of colorectal cancer in the father's family. Treatment strategies and progress are discussed and analyzed within the framework of attachment theory, with reference to other theoretical dimensions.
