Abstract

SummaryA total of 1,357 subjects was skin tested with toxoplasmin. Of this number, 26.4% were positive with a definite preponderance of positive reactors in the older age groups. There was a significant variation between students of medicine and veterinary medicine, between city and rural high school students, between city and farm residents and between persons with maximum and minimum animal contact as defined in this study. No significant influence was apparent in the evaluation by geographic residence, sex, dietary habits, occupation, or sanitation, with the possible exception of the consumption of raw eggs.
