Abstract

A neutrophil-like cell population termed low-density granulocytes (LDG) has previously been identified in association with disease activity in the peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) of patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). We report here that LDG levels are also significantly elevated in the PBMC of patients with moderate persistent or severe persistent asthma.
