Abstract

AbstractIn present scenario, the power system is playing an indispensable role in modernization. The current situation shows a rising pattern of load and would have a considerable impact on the reliability of distribution network. Reliability of the delivery network is considered to be of critical significance, since it is the only connection between customers and the utility. The technique to determining the reliability of the distribution network becomes complicated as the aging effect of the power system equipment is considered. In order to accurately estimate the reliability of the distribution network, given the aging impact of the equipment, a reliability evaluation model is proposed. The time-dependent failure rate model is taken here. Further, fuse failure probability is considered with load growth for more accurate evaluation of reliability. The proposed procedure is applied on Roy Billinton Test System (RBTS) Bus-2 network. It is observed that proposed procedure provides a broader view in the assessment of reliability evaluation.KeywordsAgingDistribution networkFuse failure probabilityLoad growthReliability indices
