Abstract

International Journal of Multidisciplinary Studies (IJMS) is published by the Faculty of Graduate Studies - University of Sri Jayewardenepura. IJMS provides a supportive environment for multidisciplinary researchers to publish their contribution to the academy of knowledge and wisdom. Focus of the journal is on multidisciplinary research which should cover at least two distinct disciplines.

INTRODUCTION

B.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Sciences (MLS), B. The students accomplish an enormous number of practical sessions including Microbiology, Haematology, Histopathology, Chemical Pathology and Parasitology during their course of study (Prospectus, Allied Health Sciences Degrees, Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, 2012). In addition to the university setting, students gain comprehensive laboratory exposures from the medical laboratories in hospitals (Prospectus, Allied Health Sciences Degrees, Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, 2012). These students gain clinical experience in a variety of settings especially from the hospitals over the whole course of four years (Prospectus, Allied Health Sciences Degrees, Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, 2012).
