Abstract

This paper proposes a method to assembly units partition for complex assemblies, which is used to solve the combinatorial explosion problem of assembly sequence planning, and to achieve parallel assembly. Firstly, the basic parts of assembly units are classified by fuzzy clustering analysis. Then, functional parts of assembly units are classified into the assembly units by the Dijkstra algorithm based on universal gravitation formula. Furthermore, evaluation indicators are proposed to evaluate partition results. Finally, the rear independent suspension of automobile is taken as an example to validate this method.
