Abstract

A method applicable to the assay of glycosyltransferases is described, Features include stopping the reaction using phenol, which results in the partition of the protein into the phenol phase and of the carbohydrates into the aqueous phase. Substrates and products are then assayed using gas-liquid chromatography. The method is shown to be convenient and rapid by application to the assay of invertase and fructosyltransferase.
