Abstract

Enabling video, voice, and haptic communication over the sixth generation (6G) cellular networks is becoming a demand. Tactile Internet (TI) is expected to find many use cases over the 6G systems as it will enable the smooth transfer of haptic communications in real-time. TI will enable exceptional applications and transform both many industry sectors and segments of the society as well. TI consists of an emerging technology that is considered as the succeeding evolution point of the Internet of Things (IoT), as it is anticipated to produce several openings for technology markets in a broad form of applications. Nevertheless, the development of TI over wireless media in the upcoming 6G networks may create various non-conventional communication challenges. Network's latency, availability, reliability, and security consist of the foremost design challenges of TI and haptic communication systems. Introducing an Artificial Intelligence-based virtual model, which can be built on the edge cloud unit, could become a key solution to address the network challenges.
