Abstract

Blockchain technology is crucial for cutting-edge demands and aligns with the trend towards decentralized architecture. Interoperability between private and public blockchain technology can revolutionize digital record-keeping and enable automation. Traditional database systems saw major developments when Application Programming Interfaces (API) and data were used across centralized entities. For blockchain technology, the natural evolution would be to facilitate communication and data exchange between private and public blockchain technologies, potentially revolutionizing digital record-keeping for future automation. Our research tests this interoperability in real-world scenarios and explores smart city elements and use-cases for application in the next generation of blockchain systems.
