Abstract

The intelligent transportation system (ITS) architecture always plays an important role on the ITS technology, standardization, research, product development, system integration and projects. From a variety of information applications, layered and information-oriented ITS architecture is introduced in the paper. On the basis of analysis for many useful information attributes of time, geography, layer, medium, storage, communication and theme, the data model used for the ITS information exchange is then induced. Finally, the mode of data transformation and exchange is provided and discussed to demonstrate the possible applications in ITS.
