Abstract

Elution of compounds [PdCl{3-ClC6H3CHNCH(Me)Ph}{trans-2-PPh2(CyOH)}] 5a and [PdX{C6H4CH(Me)NH2}{Ph2PCH(OMe)Ph}] 6b, containing the racemic phosphines as ligands, through a SiO2 column allows the separation of the two diastereoisomers. Optically active coordination complexes trans-[PtCl2{Ph2PCH(OMe)Ph}2] and trans-[PtCl2{Ph2PCH(OMe)Ph}(PPh3)], have been obtained by ligand transfer reactions between 6b and PtCl2 or trans-[PtCl(μ-Cl)(PPh3)]2, respectively. The dinuclear cyclopalladated resolving agent can be separated from the platinum compounds and used in a new resolution process.
