An Approach to Cultivate Graduate's Innovative Ability Based on Creative Practice

Abstract

Innovative ability is one of the necessary abilities of the graduates, which is also the inevitable requirement for graduate education. There are many different approaches to achieve this goal. Practice plays very important role in the cultivation of the graduates’ innovative ability. Innovative ability cultivation needs powerful practice design. Creative practice is described in this paper. Creative practice is aimed to improve the practice during the process of graduate cultivation. The graduates are divided into different small teams. These teams will join different research and technical works, which have some competition features. Guided by the direction of professional team works, the teams will participate in academic competitions, which will make the graduates master the knowledge and have the professional skills. Further, it will inspire and cultivate the graduates’ innovative ability through such team works with competition features. Existing investigations show that the approach in this paper is helpful in cultivating graduates' innovative practical ability.
