Abstract

Service composition is a new approach to provide IT service efficiently and cost-effectively over the network. However the existing service composition methods which were only syntax based make automatic web service composition difficult. Current efforts towards semantic web services expect that the existing services can be dynamically discovered, composed and executed on the basis of semantic matching and reasoning, but majority of approaches only take into account input/output service profile when matching and ignore the topology relations among services, thus the obtained composition results are often unsatisfactory. In this paper, we propose a new effective and efficient mechanism for services composition based on process model. We take into account the internal process of services while performing the matchmaking operation and improve intelligence and accuracy in the automatic web services discovery and composition. Finally this paper presents a description of the preliminary services composition framework that supports web services discovery and composition based on OWL-S process model.
