Abstract

A two region model is developed for the analysis of single-blow experiments performed on solar collectors under indoor conditions. The model considers an exponential variation of the inlet fluid temperature. Two flat plate collectors of different design are tested. A least square error minimization procedure is used to extract the steady state collector parameters, such as the loss coefficient and the efficiency factor, from the transient test data. The predicted fluid outlet temperature agrees well with the test results over a range of flow rates and fluid temperatures.
