Abstract

The conductivities of mixed electrolyte solutions involving symmetrical and asymmetrical electrolytes (BaBr 2 + NACl) have been measured in methanol at 25°C. The conductance of the mixed-electrolyte solutions can be derived from the K A and Λ data for the appropriate single electrolytes and used to determine the concentrations and conductances of all species present in solution. The molar conductances of the mixture are calculated theoretically using the Lee-Wheaton equation and the results are compared with the experimental values.
