Abstract
Electronic spreadsheets are being increasingly used by engineers in their work related to design and data processing. They are also valuable teaching aids for engineering educators. This paper describes some applications of spreadsheets in a computer aided design course offered to mechanical engineering students. Some design exercises where spreadsheets can be very effective are described.
