Abstract

The solution to the problem of selecting optimum machining conditions requires sophisticated analytical techniques. The mathematical models used in the analysis of optimal machining conditions are inherently non-linear models which are constrained by the available speeds, feeds, horsepower, surface finish, etc. In this paper, a relatively new technique, the Geometric Programming is used for selecting the optimal machining conditions; cutting velocity and feed.
