Abstract

The authors are researching value creative consensus building processes and are focused on a case where group members faced a large number of choices in this study. It was observed that the member viewpoints changed through the sharing of a central concept (value). Also, we compared the consensus building processes that involved a small and large number of choices and found that it is possible to understand both types of consensus building processes by using the same structural model and to quantitatively discuss various consensus building processes using the same analytical method, regardless of the number of choices. Furthermore, we roughly divided the consensus building processes into the problem-solving type and concept-refinement type and evaluated the support method according to each feature. The analysis and organization of the elements of the various consensus building processes are expected to contribute to the development of consensus building science.
