Abstract

An apparatus for both the preparation and grinding of graphite and graphite intercalation compounds without exposure to air was designed. The new apparatus was developed to investigate the grinding characteristics in various atmosphere. It was found with use of this apparatus that grinding of both natural graphite and exfoliated bromine graphite was significantly dependent on the existence of absorbed water or bromine and the grinding atmosphere.
