Abstract
An apparatus is described for measuring photosynthetic carbon dioxide assimilation, dark respiration, photorespiration and the C02 compensation point by plant materials fumigated with sulphur dioxide and/or ozone. This system uses an infrared gas analyser (IRGA) in a closed-loop system. Sulphur dioxide is added from permeation tubes, and 03 is generated by ultraviolet light. Regulation of fumigant concentration and scrubbing the fumigants from the system are described.
