Abstract

The cross section ratios σ(4 g +)/ σ(2 g +) and σ(2 γ +)/ σ(2 g +) are nearly an order of magnitude larger in the 182W(t,p) 184W reaction than for other measured cases of the (t,p) or (p,t) reactions in the rare earth and actinide deformed regions. On both relative and absolute scales the 2 g + state of 184W is anomalously weakly populated in 182W(t,p) while the 4 g + and 2 γ + states are enhanced relative to the ground-state transition.
