Abstract

Abstract We reported previously that an anomaly appeared in the specific heat of UPd 2 Al 3.03 in the superconducting state. An anomaly has also been observed in the thermal expansion of a sample, which was cut from the same ingot of UPd 2 Al 3.03 revealing de Haas-van Alphen oscillations. The temperature dependence of the magnetic susceptibility of La 0.25 U 0.75 Pd 2 Al 3 shows no peak down to about 5 K contrary to that of UPd 2 Al 3 , implying a nonsinglet ground state.
