Abstract
An annotated catalogue is provided of the type specimens of the chameleons in the herpetological collections of the Museum fur Naturkunde der Humboldt-Universitat zu Berlin, Institut fur Systematische Zoologie, formerly Zoologisches Museum Berlin (ZMB). The collection includes 107 type specimens, representing 40 named taxa (26 of which are currently regarded as valid at the specific or subspecific level). Most of the primary types represent species occurring in the former German African colonial territories of Tanganyika (now Tanzania) and Cameroon, although material from other parts of the African mainland is also represented.
