Abstract

AbstractThe paper deals with an anisotropic continuum damage model to describe the brittle damage and fracture behavior of plain concrete. Due to the stress state dependence of damage and fracture, multiaxial experiments have to be analyzed to make sure the model is able to simulate the observed physical phenomena. Therefore, simulations with a two‐dimensional version of the proposed model have been carried out based on the experimental data from existing literature. These simulations show a dependence of the model parameters on the stress state.
