Abstract
The existing pedagogy model that is used in much of formal Information Systems (IS) and management education is argued to be inferior to a 'mix' of pedagogy and andragogy on the basis of extant learning theories. A set of propositions, which may be thought of either as prescriptions or as the bases for hypotheses to be empirically tested, are derived from six principles that reflect the evolution of learning theories. A 'portfolio' of educational methodologies is presented to illustrate how the andragogy model can complement the pedagogy model in IS and management education.
