Abstract

Parathyroid angiography can be hazardous because of potential cervical cord damage due to inadvertent injections into obturated branches of the costocervical trunk. Occasionally these branches may arise from the thyrocervical trunk. A case in which only the superior intercostal artery appeared to be replaced to the inferior thyroid artery illustrates one variant within the spectrum of costocervical trunk anomalies.
