Abstract

A photovoltaic pumping station was designed using a computer program based on available data of solar radiation, ambient temperature, well depth, water consumption, the power of the pump,…. etc, in order to supply water to 20 residential units. The optimal fixed and variable angles of the panels, the total area of the panels, and the power output were evaluated, in addition to the study of and analysis of the effect of variations in parameters (such as storage tank capacity, number of residential units, well depth) on the total area and the inclination angles. The effective cost was also considered under various conditions.
