Abstract

An integral transform method is used to obtain stress distributions in cracked symmetric two-dimensional projections extending out of the half plane. The case considered includes two collinear external Griffith cracks located at the root of the projection. Two loaded cases are considered. Numerical results stress intensity factors are presented in the form of graphs. Although a particular shape has been assumed, the principle of the method could easily be extended to various cases of machine or structural elements.
