Abstract

This paper proposes an effective signal-to-interference plus noise ratio (SINR) based Call Admission Control (CAC) scheme with constrained resource that guarantees Quality of Service (QoS) requirements for admitted users in a 3GPPLTE Heterogeneous Broadband Wireless Access network (Het-BWA-Nets) scenario. It also develops an analytical model based on Continuous Time Markov Chain (CTMC) to evaluate the performance of the proposed CAC scheme in terms of some popular QoS parameters like New Call Blocking Probability (NCBP), Handoff Call Dropping Probability (HCDP), Connection Outage Probability (COP) and Bandwidth Utilisation (BU). The analytical model along with CAC scheme is implemented in MATLAB platform to generate results. The novelty of the CAC scheme is to consider the interference level for each connection type that helps to get COP with required QoS. It is seen that the proposed SINRCAC scheme in 3GPPLTE Het-BWA-Nets not only generates commendable improvements in NCBP, HCDP, and COP but also provides 76.70 % improvement in overall BU of the system.
