Abstract

This paper presents an analytic method calculating Thevenin equivalent (TE) parameters with single-time measurements. TE model of power systems is used in static voltage stability estimation. However, identification of TE parameters faces with accuracy issue currently. In this paper, we derives analytic expression of Thevenin equivalent parameters using single-time wide area measurements. It can avoid the accuracy issue caused by system disturbance. The simulation results on New England 39-bus system proves the effectiveness and accuracy of proposed method.
