Abstract

ABSTRACTNuclear security covers physical protection system (PPS) of nuclear material and associated facilities which is a time-worthy concern for Bangladesh now due to its upcoming nuclear power plant. This article analyzes the necessities for developing effective PPS pertinent to Bangladesh through successive computational logics for threat-security interfacing. The analysis also demonstrates the need of a dedicated security operator at facility and state level. Considering the actual requirements and present capability, a gap analysis is carried out which shows that the national preparedness is 34% whereas, the identified gap, development initiatives, and absolute weakness are 33%, 10% and 23% respectively.
