Abstract

Objective To explore the clinical association of pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) with female infertility.Methods 124 women with PID who had been treated between January 2005 and October 2011 were investigated and studied.The general demographic data (including age,educational level,and family finances),course of disease,conception,and female sex hormones were analyzed.Results 27.42% of the women with PID patients developed infertility.Episodes of PID differed from conception significantly (P<0.05).There were significant differences between infertility group and conception group in luteinizing hormone,estrogen,progesterone prolactin,and testosterone (P<0.05).Conclusions Pelvic inflammatory disease leads the possibility of female infertility.For the women with pelvic inflammatory disease,proper treatment should be adiminstered to reduce the chance of becoming infertile.
