Abstract

At the end of the 19th century, to consolidate their colonial domination, the French colonists adopt various means, tryingto disintegrate the Vietnamese traditional Confucianism value system and establish the French-Vietnamese educationsystem. Crude colonial methods exacerbated the loss of Vietnamese national culture and the fission of social classes,but objectively speaking, they also contributed to the establishment of modern education in Vietnam.
