An analysis of the efficacy of incident reporting systems for sustainable development in the health/fitness industry: the case of a public multipurpose fitness facility

Abstract

Background: Health/fitness facilities require an incident reporting system as part of the workplace health and safety risk management framework, where historical injury records can be analysed and used as evidence to identify sources of hazards and risks that can be minimised through effective risk management strategies (Work Health and Safety Act 2011). Therefore, quality utilisation of an incident reporting system is paramount to the effectiveness of a risk management program.
