Abstract

The dynamic light scattering (DLS) spectra for isolated connectin filaments in solution are analyzed in terms of a wormlike chain model with a preaveraged hydrodynamic interaction. The analysis gives the translational diffusion coefficient D= 3.60×10 -8 cm 2 /s at 10°C, the mean-square end-to-end distance = (163 nm) 2 , and the number γL=30 and length γ -1 = 30 nm of the Kuhn statistical segments
