Abstract Von Zeipel 1128 is shown to be an unusual late 0-type member of the globular cluster M3. From an analysis of its spectrum it is concluded that > 0.6 S\j?0 and that the He/H ratio in Von Zeipel 1128 is close to that of 0 and B stars of Population I. Despite the fact that other stars in M3 have metal deficiencies of at least a factor of 10, the measured strengths of N iii and 0 ii lines suggest much higher metal abundances in Von Zeipel 1128 Various speculations on the evolutionary history of this star are briefly presented.
