Abstract
Abstract 1.1. One hundred proved cases of malignancy were studied hematologically and were viewed from a clinicohematologic aspect. 2.2. Blood pictures were classified into four distinct groups and one indeterminate group, according to definite hematologic constellations. 3.3. Metastasis in bone marrow was discussed from an anatomic, pathologic, and hematologic viewpoint. 4.4. Hematologic data may be used to diagnose cases presenting stimulative nonmetastatic blood pictures. This is possible in one-third of all the cases of malignancy. More frequent studies may even lead to earlier recognition of malignancy and consequently open up opportunities for greater therapeutic possibilities. 5.5. Presence of metastasis may be diagnosed long before clinical manifestations are present and may spare the patient operative risk or unnecessary treatment. 6.6. Unexplained leucocytosis may be ascribed to malignancy, and the latter considered, especially if associated with asegmentopenia and aneosinopenia.
